Hey Josh,
Been loving the show for about 2 years and this is my first comment.
So you’re considering what to do when jumping to Android. I just did this myself 3 weeks ago and got the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium to replace my Lumia 1520.
After many years of being a loyal Windows Mobile (iPaq, glofiish X800, HTC HD and HD2) and Windows Phone user (Ativ S), I’ve had to ditch the platform.
The Lumia 1520 with Windows Phone 8.1 I was using as my daily device for nearly 18 months had to be replaced due to an unreliable battery (or could it be the battery meter?) that would die anywhere between 62% and 30-odd%.
Since I’ve made the switch I’ve installed as many Microsoft apps as I can to replicate the Windows Phone experience and the Office Apps for Android are soooooo much better than what was offered for WP8.1, which is also infuriating that Microsoft chose to favour Android instead of their own platform.
The MSN News app is basically the same as for Windows Phone, as well as MSN money and Food.
But one of the things I miss the most is Cortana integration. Since it’s not available in Australia, I’ve side loaded the US version and it just doesn’t compare to how it works with WP8.1, but that is to be expected, unfortunately. And Google Now pales in comparison.
Anyway, on with Android and RIP Windows Phone. You will be sorely missed.
