Good show guys…. just found the podcast and have been catching up on all the episodes this week… [you guys sound just fine at 1.5x speed BTW]…. good episode on structured wiring and planning your infrastructure… it is a challenging issue and always hard to predict how to ‘future proof’.
As some background…. currenly, have a NEST for HVAC and SONOS for audio – really I am happy with both. Run a Windows 2012 Server Essentials for home server and media server with PLEX to serve up media to lots of sources. U-Verse for TV and ISP. iPhone and iPad user.
Maybe you could help me out… I had some lighting automation at a former home and have a good understanding of the concepts (scenes, events, ramp rates, etc). I have just moved into a new loft (actually was my old high school gym, cool story, lots of good memories there old and new). Great space with 30′ ceilings… I have some large windows that have blinds on them that we open and close regularly. Have to make my way up a spiral staircase to get to the set up high. I would love to have some control over those existing blinds or add some shade control (something I have never done before)…. Looking for an integrated system that will support scene lighting and programming and shade control. Any ideas?
Thanks and love the show… Steve in Roswell GA (just north of ATL)
