Lutron is announcing improvements to its HomeKit-compatible Caséta Wireless Smart Bridge, enhancing its HomeKit integration and capabilities. Lurton’s initial HomeKit offering has been one of the most stable and reliable in the ecosystem. Now that HomeKit has evolved to officially support additional device profiles and capabilities, Lutron can offer Caséta and Serena Shade owners with more control options.
Specifically, new software updates will allow Caséta and Serena Shade owners to control their shades using Siri. Adventurous HomeKit enthusiasts may realize that you can already include Lutron lighting products and Serena Shades in HomeKit scenes through other vendors’ HomeKit apps, but this update will add that support natively while also allowing you to control your shades using voice commands through Siri.
Do I have to have the Lutron Caseta SmartBridge PRO in order to control my Serena shades with HomeKit or can I just run my shades from my smart phone with HomeKit by itself?
