Ceton InfiniTV 4 Receives CableLabs Certification

Ceton InfiniTV 4 Receives CableLabs CertificationWhile the news around CableCARD tuners has been up and down over the last few week, this announcement from Ceton certainly falls into the prior category. Today via the company’s Twitter feed Ceton announced that their InfiniTV 4 USB tuner has passed CableLabs certification. Now that they have received the blessing of CableLabs they can finalize any remaining details and then start cranking the devices out of their production facilities. We can hope that with Ceton’s new manufacturing facilities, and the fact that this is not their first device, that we might see this on the market within the next few weeks. Although given all of the other delays we’ve seen lately from their competitors, I would bet that they are going to wait until they are absolutely certain about a release date before publicly announcing it.
