If you’re like me, well, you’re old…That or you can’t decipher what certain singers choose to say during their songs. No matter the reason, sometimes song lyrics are hard to hear. That won’t be a concern when listening to Pandora anymore.
The popular, free music streaming site has just signed an agreement with Gracynote Lyric Services to provide the lyrics to the music in Pandora’s catalog. Through the agreement, Pandora users will have access to lyrics for hundreds of thousands of tracks from more than 20,000 music publishing catalogs, including those from the four major publishers, as well from as dozens of prominent independent publishers, all via Gracenote’s lyrics database.
“Lyrics are the most-requested piece of music-related information, and they are integral to the music experience,” said Ross Blanchard, Vice President of Business Development for Gracenote. “Now, through this agreement, Pandora users will have easy and direct access to the largest and highest quality database of authorized lyrics available in the industry.”
“Pandora’s listeners have repeatedly requested lyrics and we are thrilled to deliver them,” said Jessica Steel, SVP of Business Development, Pandora. “Gracenote’s breadth of lyric coverage and industry reputation makes them an excellent partner for this great feature.”
I haven’t used Pandora much lately mainly because I’m not frequently near the PC listening to music, but from past experience it’s a great service and this only adds to it. From creating a station to having it select music that matches your taste, the service has always worked great for me and helped me find new artists that matched my taste. Give it a try!
