This is the day that many of us have been waiting for! Windows 8 was officially released to manufacturing back on August 1st, but that only meant that hardware partners could legally obtain the final version of the operating system. Now anyone with a valid MSDN or TechNet subscription can download the final release. If that includes you then head on over to either the MSDN Subscriber Downloads page, or the TechNet Subscriber Downloads page to get started! Also, if you’re a developer, make sure you grab the final version of Visual Studio 2012 also. With that you’ll be able to get started writing Windows 8 apps!
If you’re not an MSDN or TechNet subscriber don’t forget that you can still score an upgrade from XP, Vista, or Windows 7 to Windows 8 for only $39.99.
