In the past, the Internet TV options in Media Center have been a bit of a joke. The same tired clips over and over and never replaced with anything fresh. Add the fact that you couldn’t even watch full episodes of anything and it was basically a non-starter.
MS has been changing that lately and it started with Windows 7. We suddenly had access to full episodes from CBS, PBS and other content. Netflix was next and while it’s STILL not available on extenders within the MC interface, it was a great addition.
Microsoft announced today the addition of more content and it’s not just the US that’s winning this time. Germany and France will be gaining access to MSN Video within Media Center. In the UK, Internet TV will be adding over 1,000 hours of full-length TV shows, many in HD. And we weren’t left out here in the US either. Select Netflix content will now be available in HD.
While this was announced today, the rollout of the new content may take up to 48 hours to find you. Once it does though, you can expect to find something new to watch if you live in one of the select areas.
