SageTV Software and Extenders Get Updated

image SageTV, one of the more popular pieces of HTPC software on the market, is great about updates.  The company seems to pump them out continuously not just for the software but this time for their HD100 and HD200 extenders as well.

Brent Evans from GeekTonic has the details on the latest updates posted.  If you’re a SageTV user you’re going to want to know what the latest versions are going to give you.  Here’s just a sample:

For SageTV software:

  • Fixed bug with some ATSC/QAM recordings being recognized as MPEG1 instead of MPEG2
  • Fixed bug where DVD subtitles were showing when they shouldn’t be
  • Added new Remap Channel menu, used when choosing to remap a channel in Channel Setup.

For the SageTV Extenders:

  • Improve seeking in flac files with index (HD200 and HD100)
  • Fix flac audio decoding for larger packets (file with very high settings still can’t playback because of cpu resource limit) (HD200 and HD100)
  • Fix 5.1 downmix when using software decoding (HD200 and HD100)

These are just a few of the things that Sage has updated.  For the full story, head over to Geektonic.  You can find the information on the software updates here, and the full story on the extender updates can be found here.

If you are a SageTV user and you’re not reading Geektonic, you’re missing out.  Brent is the best resource for staying up to date on the latest changes to this popular HTPC solution.
