  • Can you control WMC on the Xbox one using a HTPC or extender (including a 360) using the HDMI in on the Xbox one?

  • I amongst many others have one or two home theatre Setups in the house. Will the Xbox One be able to power on my amp when it also powers on the TV? If so, will it also control the volume?

If not I propose that a workaround would be using a bye bye standby device that would power up the amp when it senses the TV is being powered up.

Microsoft have blatantly shot themselves in the foot by not allowing surround sound to pass through from a STB via HDMI.

  • Is there an option in the wild that caters for Xbox one owners in a multi room environment?

  • Still awaiting my shipment. I can tell you that Microsoft has responded to the surround sound issue, and they do have that as an available option. It didn’t pass their testing criteria, so it’s disabled by default, and it’s considered “beta” until they firm it up.

  • What is it your thinking here…audio, video, remote control, … ?

  • The XBone does see a mediacenter PC when you search for MdiaCenter but it will not power on a amp. Which sucks because I run my SPDIF through my amp. I am going to have reconfigure everything through my Panny. Not Happy MCE user.

  • Josh can we get a Google hangout going tonight? I don’t want to wait till Tuesday to talk about it.

  • You can use your receiver by going to setting/devices. It doesn’t ask you during setup. Found it poking around. Getting disgusted as I do also. But it hasn’t been able to turn it on/off yet or my TV.
