Hulu Brings Content Out of the Browser

image It looks as though Hulu isn’t as against content on the TV as we once thought.  Starting today, you can download the Hulu Desktop application for both Windows and Mac.  The app makes Hulu fully compatible with your Windows Media Center and Apple remote controls.

What this means for HTPC users has yet to be seen as the application is stand alone and not integrated into any HTPC software.  However, by simply connecting your laptop to your TV, you’ll now be able to control Hulu from your couch easily.

Something tells me it won’t take long to see this brought into either Windows Media Center or some other HTPC solution.  The community always finds a way to deliver.

  • Should be pretty easy to just add a menu item to launch the new app (and reopen MC on exit) but I'd love to see something better integrated with Media Center than that

  • Ahh…I'm guessing this is why they're swatting down access through Boxee and others. Of course, do we really want a separate app for every distribution channel. Hell no.
