For Episode 142 of the Entertainment 2.0 podcast Josh Pollard had the pleasure of being joined by Richard Gunther and James Montemagno. CableCARD news abounds, and because of that both Josh and Richard had updates to provide. Josh updated everyone on using the Hauppauge WinTV-DCR-2650 with an Atom-powered machine as he was able to sucessfully use it with an Earth by Low Carbon PC. Richard then talked about his CableCARD self-install and his attempts to get his new SiliconDust HDHomeRun Prime working. After that Josh went into describing what he thinks may be the future of media access with Windows 8. Continuing with the Windows 8 coverage the guys briefly discussed Microsoft’s inclusion of native support for mounting ISO files in Windows 8. They wrapped up the show by suggesting that we all evaluate our HTPC storage prior to the fall TV season, and a quick tip on how to add a new hard drive for recorder storage in Windows Media Center. Make sure to join the guys for the live recording next week at 8pm ET!
