Seen In HD Episode 16 – Winter TV Preview

hd

This week we take a small break from our regular scheduled programming to welcome back Brent Evens, better know as Geek Tonic, to talk about the Winter 2010 TV Schedule.

You may remember Brent joined us in the fall to look at the 2009 fall schedule. It was so fun, we thought we’d do it again.

Geektonic.com is the destination for finding out when your favorite shows are premiering or coming back from a long winter’s nap (Glee, anyone?). Check out Brent’s guide to the 2010 Winter TV schedule.

We do talk a little bit of news. Word of how Black Friday actually went finally came out, and while it wasn’t bad, it wasn’t anything to write home about either. Revenue was down 1.2% from 2008, though unit sales of Blu-ray players jumped 50% from a year ago according to Video Business.

The Blu-ray Disc Association finalized the 3D spec, calling for backwards compatibility on an extension of the AVC codec.

An article in HDTV Magazine asks if the end of HD broadcasting is near. The answer of course, is no. However, there’s some interesting bits to be taken from the article about the amount on unused spectrum in the broadcast realm.

This week the HD sportsman has seven bowl games to choose from and five NBA games on Christmas day.

Finally, the Blu-ray releases for Dec. 22 and 29 highlighted by District 9 and Family Guy Presents: Something Something Something Dark Side.

  • A blonde keeps walking down her drive to her mail box.

She keeps doing this until her neighbour asks her why she is doing that.

The blonde replies “My computer keeps telling me that i've got mail”.

    Thanks
