Seen In HD-Episode 1
Welcome to the first episode of Seen in HD, a weekly look at all things HD, co-hosted by Phil Lozen and Adam Thursby. Seen in HD aims to examine anything and everything to do with HD video, be it Blu-ray, gaming, broadcast TV, or Web video.
Each show we’ll talk about a few things we’ve seen in the past week in HD and we’ll take a look at what’s coming up in the week ahead as well. We’ll talk Blu-ray each week, examining releases planned for the coming week, and giving reviews on movies we’ve seen. We’ll also let you know of any great Blu-ray deals that might be running.
The HD Sportsman will highlight the big games for the week ahead, and we’ll wrap up each show with a look at any big news relating to the HD industry including equipment and product announcements.
This being the first show, Adam and Phil spend some time introducing themselves by introducing their home theater equipment (or living room theaters as the case is here). Talk turns to Blu-ray after that as they look at Ghost Town, When We Left Earth: The NASA Missions (currently only $20.99 on Amazon), and Glory.
In reviewing the past week’s HD highlights, your hosts look at the PGA Tour Championship on CBS, the Track and Field World Championships on NBC and the CMT show Crossroads with Bryan Adams and Jason Aldean on Palladia. Looking to the week ahead, highlights include NFL Preseason football on FOX, War of the Worlds on ABC Saturday at 8:30 p.m. and on Sunday, Discovery Channel is running a Planet Earth Marathon starting at 8 p.m.
The Little League World Series highlights the sports action coming up and the show closes with a very unremarkable Blu-ray release schedule for August 18 and 25.
