Brent Evans over at GeekTonic has the skinny on a new way to run an HTPC from SageTV. It seems the company understands that setting up the hardware, software and drivers for an HTPC isn’t always easy and they want to make it easier.
During his interview with CTO of SageTV, Jeff Kardatzke, Brent learned that the company is working on a “SageTV Linux Media Server” that would run off of a USB key. This would basically allow you to use a PC as a headless media server by booting off of the USB drive. Not too shabby!
All the details aren’t hashed out yet but Jeff stated that they’re working on the project now so a beta should be available in the next few months with retail availability to follow soon after.
For all of the details, head to GeekTonic.
