If you’re launching a new smartphone and you want to compete with one of the big dogs, what’s the best way to do it? Well, make sure your phone syncs with said big dog’s software when it comes to content of course!
And that’s exactly what the Palm Pre will do when it goes on sale next month. The only hold up at this time is that DRM songs won’t be recognized. Even so, if you pay the “apple tax” and get your DRM removed, or if you just manage your music collection using iTunes, you won’t have to change a thing should you decide to buy a new Pre.
It’ll be interesting to see if Apple lets this stand. They’re not exactly known for allowing companies to access their software without permission. I wonder if the Pre will hit the street with this feature still in tact.
