Tomorrow, October 6th, looks to be a very big day for Microsoft. They are holding an event they’ve given the hashtag #Windows10devices to. There have been plenty of leaks and rumors leading up to the event, so there may not be many surprises left by the 10am ET start to the show.
Where: Live Stream
In addition to the phones we fully expect Microsoft to announce a new Surface Pro device. There have even been some rumors of a large device sporting the Surface name. If the rumor is true, it could turn out to be more of an Ultrabook competitor.
While very little is known about it, many believe we’ll also see a second generation Microsoft Band. The timing is right as the current version has been out for almost a year. The Microsoft Band doesn’t actually run Windows though, so we wouldn’t be surprised if it isn’t announced tomorrow. We would be disappointed though.
While it hasn’t been discussed much, we think there will be Xbox-related announcements at the event also. Major Nelson, the head of marketing for Xbox, will be in New York for the event, so it only makes sense that we’ll hear something related to the gaming console. The announcement could just be more details on what to expect when Windows 10 is released for the Xbox One in November, but we’re hoping for something more exciting.
If you can’t wait to hear the news for yourself you’ll be able to watch the event live. You can view it live on the web at www.microsoft.com/october2015event. You’ll also be able to watch it from your Xbox using the Xbox Live Events Viewer app. Then make sure to come back to the DMZ Tuesday night at 8:30pm ET. We’ll be live streaming Entertainment 2.0 where Josh and Richard will give their reactions to the news.
