Every month we’re left wondering why we even pay for games anymore! This month is no different as there’s a ton of free video games in October! Of course, for most of these, there is something that makes them not entirely free, but there’s a good chance you’re already a member of some of the services that are giving these titles away.
Xbox Live Games with Gold
If you’re an Xbox Live Gold member you’ll get two Xbox One games and two Xbox 360 games. As usual, the Xbox 360 games are backward compatible, meaning they can be played on an Xbox One.

NINJA GAIDEN 3: Razor’s Edge (October 16 – 31)
Razor’s Edge sharpens up the battles, difficulty levels, visuals, and much more to deliver the ultimate Ninja action game experience!
PlayStation Plus
If you are a PlayStation Plus member then you’ll be able to download two top-notch PlayStation 4 games. These games will be available from October 1 through November 4.
Strike out the competition in MLB The Show 19 for the PlayStation 4. Its 1v1 battles let players experience exciting hitter-pitcher duels, and the RPG elements provide a captivating element of traditional video game progression. Gather a team of friends and go head-to-head in the player vs. player options of MLB The Show 19.

Epic Games
Epic Games is one of the newest stores for digital games. Their free games are for PC, but they also don’t require any additional paid memberships. Instead of offering games for an entire month, they offer new free games every week.
Minit is a peculiar little adventure played sixty seconds at a time. Journey outside the comfort of your home to help unusual folk, uncover countless secrets, and overcome dangerous foes, all in hopes of lifting a rather unfortunate curse that ends each day after just one minute. Minit is a collaboration between Kitty Calis, Jan Willem Nijman, Jukio Kallio & Dominik Johann.
Surviving Mars (October 11 – 17)
Surviving Mars is a city building simulation video game developed by the Bulgarian studio Haemimont Games and published by Paradox Interactive. It was released on Microsoft Windows, macOS, Linux, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 15, 2018. The player serves as an overseer who must build a colony on Mars and ensure the survival of the colonists.
What would you do if your fears were hacked? >observer_ is a cyberpunk horror game from Bloober Team, the creators of Layers of Fear. Play as an Observer, the new front line of neural police, as you hack into the jagged minds of the insane.
Alan Wake’s American Nightmare (October 17 – 24)
A thrilling new storyline, hordes of creepy enemies, serious firepower and beautiful Arizona locations, combined with a fun and challenging new game mode!
Twitch Prime
Gamers know Twitch as the go-to place for watching people stream gameplay, but it’s also another source of free games. To qualify for the goodies you need to have a Twitch account linked to an active Amazon Prime subscription. All of these games are available through October.

The Walking Dead: Michonne – A Telltale Miniseries
