Logitech’s Circle 2 is Now HomeKit Compatible

Today at CEDIA, Logitech announced that its new Circle 2 camera is now HomeKit compatible. The Circle 2 hit the market, earlier this summer, with a variety of accessories, making it one of the most versatile security camera options out there. A free-standing base, plug mount, and window mount let consumers use one camera model for many uses around the home.

With today’s announcement, Logitech’s camera is now more versatile than ever, integrating with dozens (hundreds yet?) of other third-party connected devices. With HomeKit, the Circle 2 can trigger other automation events in your home, like turning on lights when there’s motion outside. Additionally, iOS devices can display rich notifications when activity is detected.

The Circle 2 also integrates with Logitech’s own Pop buttons, allowing homeowners to trigger certain actions (like toggling power or manually triggering a camera to start recording). Logitech also has an Android TV app on Sony TVs that lets homeowners view live camera feeds and recording history. Curiously, the Circle 2 doesn’t yet integrate with the Harmony Hub to trigger smart home activities.

The Circle 2 is available through a variety of retailers now for $179.95, and starting in October, it will also be available at select Apple Stores.
