Entertainment 2.0 #351: Kickstarting CableCARD

Entertainment 2.0

After a week off to celebrate the holiday, Josh and Richard are back to cover the latest Microsoft entertainment technology news. The listener feedback has built up over the last couple of weeks too, so they start the show with some listener messages including follow-ups to previous messages. JRiver Media Center is looking to Kickstarter to hopefully bring copy-protected CableCARD content to its home theater PC software. There’s a new book detailing the many ways to use Windows 10 as the basis of an entertainment PC. The Lumia 950 and 950XL have been released across the US and Europe, but is a Surface phone coming next year? And Xiaomi has launched a very interesting Windows 10 tablet.
