If you’re an auto racing fan who also loves high definition movies then you absolutely need to own Le Mans. The 1971 movie staring the legendary Steve McQueen is a must-own for not only hard-core sports car racing fans, but all auto racing fans. The fierce battle between the Porsche 917s and Ferrari 512s was filmed using actual racing versions of the cars. Much of the filming was even done during the 1970 running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans! While Le Mans certainly wasn’t the most successful movies of McQueens, probably due to the complete lack of dialogue for the first 35 minutes of the film, it continues to have a huge cult following. Now, 40 years after the theatrical release, you can own the movie on blu-ray. It can be pre-ordered from Amazon for $18.99. And if you’re an Amazon Prime member you can have it delivered for free on it’s release date, May 24th. I know I’ll be adding it to my collection!
