Sony Unveils BDP-N460 Blu-ray Player Offering Youtube, Netflix, More

Just like we saw at CES earlier this year, it’s all about convergence in 2009 and that tradition is continuing at CEDIA.  Sony showed off their new BDP-N460 Blu-ray player.  The player will ship with access to YouTube and will add Netflix streaming later this fall.

One interesting note is that the BDP-N460 doesn’t include Wi-fi access.  Sony has instead decided to make you pay $95 to Linksys for a wi-fi dongle.  How nice!

Features:

  • Full HD 1080/60p and 24p True Cinema output
  • 7.1 channel Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD High Resolution Audio, and DTS-HD Master Audio
  • 7.1 channel L-PCM via HDMI after decoding
  • Upscaling of 480i signals to “near HD quality”

The Blu-ray player will retail for $250 starting in October.
