Just like we saw at CES earlier this year, it’s all about convergence in 2009 and that tradition is continuing at CEDIA. Sony showed off their new BDP-N460 Blu-ray player. The player will ship with access to YouTube and will add Netflix streaming later this fall.
One interesting note is that the BDP-N460 doesn’t include Wi-fi access. Sony has instead decided to make you pay $95 to Linksys for a wi-fi dongle. How nice!
Features:
- Full HD 1080/60p and 24p True Cinema output
- 7.1 channel Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD High Resolution Audio, and DTS-HD Master Audio
- 7.1 channel L-PCM via HDMI after decoding
- Upscaling of 480i signals to “near HD quality”
The Blu-ray player will retail for $250 starting in October.
