Microsoft revealed the Xbox One back in May, then gave us even more details about the entertainment console at E3 in June, but we’ve been waiting to know exactly when we would all be able to get our grubby hands on one. Sony has already announced that their next-generation gaming console will debut on November 15 in the US. When they announced that on August 20th many wondered if Microsoft would be able to squeeze the release of the Xbox One into the 14 days preceding Sony’s launch. Unfortunately, that was’t to be.
Today Microsoft announced that the Xbox One will go on sale in the United States and 12 other markets on November 22nd. While it’s later than Sony in the United States it’s still before the ever-important “Black Friday”. It’s also earlier than Sony’s November 29th European launch. In addition to the United States the Xbox One will be available in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, and the UK. It will be released in many more markets in 2014.
If you’ve been considering getting the Xbox One you’ve unfortuantely already missed out on the opportunity to pre-order the special [amazon_link id=”B00CMQTVK0″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Day One Edition[/amazon_link]. The console will be sold for $499 and will include one controller, the Kinect sensor, and a headset.
