Hulu Plus App Released for Windows 8

Windows 8 and the Surface RT both officially launch this week, so we’ve been keeping an eye out for the important media apps that you’ll definitely want to install right away. Last week the Netflix app was launched, and so far we’ve really enjoyed it. While Netflix may be the king of online streaming, Hulu is near the top of the list too. If you’re a Hulu Plus subscriber then you’re in luck! Today Hulu released a Windows 8 app for their Hulu Plus subscription service. Not only that, but they also released a guided walk-through video to introduce users to the app, and to show them how to use it. It looks beautiful, and fairly simple to use. Although, I’m not quite sure why they chose a vertical scrolling mechanism for the first pane of the app. That seems like an odd choice. The rest of the app looks like it sticks to the general Windows 8 design guidelines. It also includes a snap-view for watching videos while you work on other things and the ability to pin your favorite shows to the Start screen. The live tile also updates with the latest featured videos. If you don’t see the app in the store just try again later in the day.
